60 min Restorative Yoga - class will bring deep relaxation for the body and calmness for the mind as you melt down into your evening ritual. Everyone is welcome - all levels, including beginners.
In this practice, the yoga poses are held for longer periods of time as you will be guided through a series of supported postures using props such as bolsters, blankets, blocks, straps & towels to give you complete comfort and relaxation. While in each posture you will be guided through pranayama (breathing techniques) and guided meditation with heated herbal body compresses placed on the body to encourage physical restoration. The slower pace of this class will bring awareness to your well-being - physically, mentally and emotionally. 60 min Mindful Yin Yoga – this class focuses on 3 yogic elements: Breath + Body + Beyond. This practice will bring calmness, balance, reduce stress/anxiety, improve flexibility as well as body awareness and stillness for the mind. Everyone is welcome - all levels, including beginners.
Breath: mindful breathing and centering practices to prepare the body and mind for movement. Body: gentle movements and yin postures with longer holds that allow the tissues to unravel. Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga where poses are held for longer periods of time to encourage myofascial release and improve joint mobility. This style of practice is great for working your connective tissues and such as ligaments and joints, that respond best to mindful steady movement. These passive poses are held for several minutes with the use of yoga props to allow for deeper stretching. Beyond: Stillness and peace that comes from following the breath and allowing the body to move and open. Ending class with mediation to encourage self-awareness or simply allow the mind to let go and be still.
