60 Min Sound Bath Healing - this experience will transcend your body + mind to a different place. Everyone is welcome - all levels, including beginners.
Sound Bath is the practice of healing bodies through sound waves and is thousands of years old with deep roots in cultures across the world. This “spiritual, cleansing music" varies according to place and culture, but it can be as simple as chanting an "om" following your yoga session or as complex as an hour-long experience in a space with a sound practitioner. While in a comfortable restful and restorative state lying down (Shavasana), this unique meditative experience will “bathe” you in sound waves. These waves are produced by various sources, including healing instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, percussion, chimes, rattles, tuning forks, along with the practitioners voice. The music doesn’t have a catchy melody or rhythm like you’d experience at a concert or symphony, but instead is a carefully selected wash of instrument and voice with notable resonance and overtones. Along with guided imagery, the sound healing practitioner’s intention is to help balance the chakra energy in the body creating deeply peaceful and self-meditative experience. The result: a taste profile which does not present one distinct flavor, but instead serves up layers that keep the taste buds guessing as to what’s coming next. Whether your goal is to build muscle mass or achieve a fitter, more toned body, lifting weights can help get you there. Weight training aka resistance or strength training, builds lean, stronger muscles, strengthens bones and joints, and can help keep your metabolism in a healthy state -- meaning you'll burn more calories even when you're resting. You'll learn to safely and effectively utilize hand weights, TRX suspension trainers, resistance bands, and even your own body weight to help fight the loss of muscle mass and mobility as well as improve psychological well-being. Partner yoga includes breathing, stretching and flowing movements where students assist their partner in postures. Fellas, this is your chance to learn and practice basic yoga postures in a relaxed and chill studio environment. Yoga has many great health benefits such as increasing overall flexibility, joint range of motion, and mobility. It can also help build muscle strength, increase circulation and improve body balance while alleviating tension and stress. Breathwork is an essential part of a yoga practice. In this offering, you will also learn breathing techniques that can help you decompress, alleviate anxiety and become deeply relaxed. This yoga flow class includes warming sun salutations, deep stretching, balancing and strength poses connected to the breath. Ending class with a rejuvenating resting pose, mindful body scan meditation and cool essential oil spa towel.
