While most of the talented Trinity Wellness staff can introduce themselves by summarizing impressive "fitness and wellness" careers, certifications, and education, my story looks a little different. As a career executive assistant for 30+ years, I spent hours upon hours seated at a desk, staring at a screen, and dealing with the tremendous pressures of supporting high level execs. Over the years, I've been on a continuous search for ways to physically compliment my corporate job and healthy ways to relieve workplace stress. I began jogging when I signed up for my first 5k race nearly 15 years ago. I completed in my first Triathlon the month I turned 50. I love the outdoors and look for every opportunity to get outside! I was fortunate to spend 2 years living in Colorado, with some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet! Summer hikes and winter snow skiing became a way of life. One thing that has been constant, regardless of life and job changes, is yoga. Sure, the benefits of yoga are obvious ... improved flexibility, balance, and overall strength. But the sense of community, plus the social and mental benefits of yoga are game changers, especially as we age. Our bodies were meant for movement!
In the fall of 2020, at the height of the COVID pandemic, I chose to leave my Denver corporate job and return to family here in KC. My unofficial retirement from the corporate world has allowed me to choose a different path. A path that includes working along side a team of health advocates.
When I'm not working behind the scenes or at the front desk, you might find me out paddle boarding on Lake Jacomo with my dog, horseback riding with my sister, playing trucks with my beautiful grandson, or hanging out with family and friends.
